Directions

By Rail:

Nearest station: Hampton Court (5 minute walk).
Services to Hampton Court run from London Waterloo every 30 minutes, calling at Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield, Wimbledon, Raynes Park, New Maldon, Berrylands, Surbiton and Thames Ditton.

Hampton Court is in travelcard/oyster card Zone 6.

By Underground:

There is no tube station at Hampton Court. The nearest stations are Wimbledon and Richmond.

By Bus:

  • From Kingston: 111*, 216*, 411*, 461, 513
  • From Richmond: R68*

*These services accept Oyster cards, LT cards, bus passes, Travelcards, Freedom Passes and Saver Tickets.

Riverboat

Run in the summer from the following destinations:

  • Westminster (takes about 4 hours)
  • Richmond-upon-Thames (takes about 2 hours)
  • Kingston-upon-Thames (takes about 45 minutes)

Private Boat:

Mooring sites along Barge Walk:

  • Privy Garden (by the Tijou Screens)
  • Kingston Bridge (opposite Barge Walk Cottages)

The first 24 hours are free. If you stay for more than 24 hours, mooring costs £5 per day. Boats can stay for a maximum of 72 hours.

By Car:

The palace is on the A308 and is well signposted from all major local roads. Drivers should follow the brown tourist attraction road signs:

  • From the M25: take either exit 10 (onto the A307) or exit 12 (onto the A308).
  • From the A3: take the A309.

Parking

  • On site: £1.60 per hour (car parking bays fit a standard car only) 
  • Hampton Court Green: (500 metres from entrance): £1.50 per hour
  • Pay for your parking with cash, card or by using the Glide app.
  • Hampton Court Train Station: (200 metres from entrance) for information about prices, please visit the National Rail website
  • There are 9 disabled parking bays available on site.
  • Parking on site is free for Blue Badge holders.

Minibus/Coach

Drop-off and collection points:

  • Hampton Court Green (500 metres from entrance): free of charge.
  • Hampton Court Station Coach Park (200 metres from entrance): for information about prices, please visit the National Rail website

Motor Home/Camper Van

Visitors with motor homes, camper vans or caravans should park on Hampton Court Green where the parking bays are larger and there is no width restriction at the exit. Standard hourly parking rates apply.

By Taxi:

Drop-off and pick-up points are at the gate of the palace.

By Bicycle:

Cycle racks are located to the left of the palace entrance (near Reception) and in the Car Park (next to the Rose Garden).
The National Cycle Network route number 4 runs along the Barge Walk past the palace.

By Motorcycle:

Allocated parking spaces marked ‘M/C’ are available in the on-site car park.
Normal car parking charges apply.

Food and Drink

The Tiltyard Cafe: The Tiltyard is a self-service coffee and deli bar situated in a bright, open-plan setting. Enjoy hot and cold drinks, seasonally inspired lunches, fresh sandwiches and lunch deals especially for kids.

The Privy Kitchen Cafe: Situated at the heart of the palace, the Privy Kitchen is an ideal spot for a quick bite to eat mid-visit. The Privy Kitchen Café serves a variety of hot drinks, sweet treats, Tudor-style pies and warming soups daily.

The Fountain Court Cafe: Enjoy elegant dishes and afternoon teas served directly to your table in this refined restaurant setting.
