Apex Grassmarket Hotel is located in the Old Town and Grassmarket area of the city. Looking up to Edinburgh Castle you’ll be in the heart of the action with some of the best attractions, restaurants and bars on your doorstep.
Directions
By Car
If you’re arriving by car, follow the M8 Eastbound until you get to Edinburgh Hermiston Gait. Then take the A71 toward the city centre and follow the road through the city. After about 20 minutes you’ll get to West Port then Grassmarket where the hotel is on the right. The hotel has a car park available for guests on a first come first served basis which cannot be reserved. This is chargeable at £12 for 24 hours. There is alternate on street parking available around the hotel where charges vary or multi storey parking at NCP on King Stables Road.
By Train
If you’re arriving by train into Waverley train station, the hotel is just a 10 minute walk away. Exit onto Market Street. Turn left and then right at the roundabout onto Cockburn Street. You'll meet High Street, then take a right where you’ll see Edinburgh Castle up ahead and then take a left onto George IV Bridge. Follow the road down Victoria Street where you’ll meet the Grassmarket. Alternatively. If you have a lot of luggage or can’t manage the steps, taxis are available from the taxi rank outside the train station.
By Bus
The hotel is about a 20 minute walk away from Edinburgh bus station. Head toward Princes Street and then over The Mound crossing High Street and down Victoria Street to the Grassmarket. Alternatively, from the station, you can get a taxi to the hotel.
By Tram
The tram is one of the most convenient ways to get to to the hotel. The closest tram stop to Apex Grassmarket Hotel is Princes Street, about a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Head past the Scottish National Gallery and up the hill over The Mound. When you get to Lawnmarket, head down Victoria Street toward the Grassmarket.
