The National Bowl Milton Keynes has been a legendary concert venue since 1979, hosting some of the biggest names in rock and pop music. The development of the bowl began in 1971.

1973 saw the creation of a huge horse-shoe shaped mound surrounding an area which could be utilized as an arena to host major public-attended events based on the idea of the Hollywood Bowl. In 1977 earthworks completed and open-air concerts discussed.
