Pretty Yende has quickly established herself as one of the finest young sopranos in the world today. A rising star with global potential who has earned her status as the next megastar.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
▪ In 2010 Yende was the first artist in the history of the Belvedere International Singing Competition for Young Opera Singers to win first prize in every category.
▪ In January 2013 made a sensationally acclaimed Metropolitan Opera debut, stepping in on a few week's notice as the Countess Adele in Le Comte Ory opposite Juan Diego Florez.
▪ The first prize winner of Placido Domingo's Operalia Competition in 2011.
▪ Future engagements include her first staged appearances as Lucia at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, her debut at the Gran Teatro Liceu in Barcelona as Norina, and her Washington National Opera debut as Micaela.
▪ Yende will also debut with the Netherlands Opera as the Contessa di Fondeville in Il Viaggio a Reims  and will return to the Metropolitan Opera for several productions.

ARTIST BACKGROUND
▪  Currently residing in Milan, Yende is a South African soprano who graduated from the University of Cape Town (SA College of Music).
▪ Studied with legendary Bel Canto soprano Mariella Devia.
▪ Yende made her professional operatic debut at the National Theatre in Riga as Micaela in Carmen.
▪ The winner of many international competitions including the Montserrat Caballe International Competition, Savonlinna International Competition, Leyla Gencer International Competition, Bellini International Bel Canto Competition.
▪  A 2011 graduate of the Young Artists Accademia of the Teatro alla Scala, she made her debut with that company in 2010 as Berenice in Rossini's L'Occasione  fa il Ladro and has  since also appeared at La Scala as  Barbarina in Le Nozze Di Figaro, Norina in Don Pasquale  and in the fall 2012 of as Musetta in La Boheme.
